Community defib seminar success
On the evening of 23 Nov experienced trainer Jon Poulter from Community Heartbeat Trust gave an excellent session on how to respond in the event of a cardiac arrest. Residents from the Wolfords found the session lively and informative, and by the end everyone felt more confident about how to use the defibrillator, located on the wall of the Village Hall. Interest was expressed in setting up an emergency village phone system, an invaluable aid for those living in rural communities.
Defibrillator now installed
This week the electrician came to install the defibrillator. The unit is located on the exterior wall of the Wolfords Village Hall and signs have gone up around the village to help direct people in case of emergency. This is a great achievement and a life-saving asset for our community.
We did it - target exceeded!
Good news! As a result of the Community Grant from WALC, and the generosity of LW residents to help push us over the line, we have not only achieved our fundraising target, but exceed it! We are grateful to everyone who contributed - thank you. The final total raised was £2,107.
Little Wolford Village Hall have kindly given us permission to install the defibrillator on the outside wall of the village hall
We are now liaising with Community Heartbeat Trust regarding the purchase of the defibrillator, which they will be installing for us in due course.
Defibrillator Appeal well on way to target
A final push is sought from local residents to help us reach our defibrillator appeal target of £2170 (later revised to £2012). The online Defibricklator appeal fund can be found on the Community Heartbeat Trust's website and has already made it to 69%. To donate now click here.
